This year, apart from regular participants from Central Asia, Russia, Afghanistan and Iran, the festival is being attended by filmmakers from Mongolia, Germany and Turkey. Kyrgyz director Temir Birnazarov is well-known in the festival scene. Recently he was awarded a special jury prize of a Kazakh Film Festival. But this is his first time at Didor and he brought here his new film “Unknown Route.” While in Tajikistan, Temir also learned about works of his Central Asian colleagues. This year Tajik filmmakers will show 15 new features at the festival, in contrast to just two, four years ago, when Didor was held for the first time. This year the Festival is held with the financial support of international organizations. Participants will compete in four nominations – the Best Feature Film, Best Short, Special Prize of International Jury, and Swiss Prize for the Best Tajik Film.
